First the yarn substitution. Suggested yarn is impossible to get here in the UK (at least at the short notice I had and besides its a silk mix - the smell of silk makes me feel a bit sick) so suggested substitute of Rowan All Seasons Cotton was the choice. Alas there was not enough in stock of any one colour, and I needed to start on Saturday!
So what came in its place is Debbie Bliss Cotton Angora blend in a gorgeous sage green colour. It is as soft as soft can be, but my god does this stuff shed! Today I was wearing a black t-shirt. This evening after a couple of hours knitting, my black t-shirt is a hairy sage green colour!

So I cast on on Saturday evening and settled down into it. I got 1/2 way through the first ball of yarn when I realised I'd made a HUGE glaring mistake. It had to be frogged, there was nothing I could do! I was increasing in ONE stitch at the markers instead of two stitches either side of the markers. Argh! Frogged she was =( Luckily the yarn frogs quite nicely and wasn't a shedding tangled mess of pilled yarn. Instead the yarn was just a little kinked.
I cast on again, knitted frantically back to where I was and today, this is what the gorgeous bombshell looks like on the needles:

With several miles of knitting left to do, at least I am thankful that I have until 9 July to complete! Wish me luck - I'm gonna need it to know where I left off the cashmere lacey scarf and pick that back up after! *laugh*

She's going to be BEAUTIFUL!!! the yarn may shed, but it's scrumptious looking! I can't wait to get this book!!!
I love the the color!! Im so jealous you are starting it already. Im sure you will finish in time for your deadline. Frogging or no frogging :)
That looks great so far and I love the color! :)
btw...I'm glad you liked the yarn I picked...I thought you'd enjoy the dark red...:P
Hi! Found you via the BKG group.
Love the color! Can't wait to see the finished sweater!
I'm already thinking about making another one too. I'll have to swatch up some all-seasons cotton and see how that works up. I also like Calmer in the sage-y green color and thought that might hold the shape well.
Very nice model and colour!
I am curious to know if the shedding stops after the first wash.
Who needs cat hairs when you can have wool that sheds.... lovely colour though!
