I have learned about shaping and fitting knitting to match the sizing, I've learned a valuable lesson about choosing yarn (I love the feel of the cotton angora but frankly I don't think I will ever knit with that again) and choosing colour (I don't like that green on me *laugh* after all that work!). This really was a fabulous project to do and I'm so grateful for Yarn Monkey's Knitting World Cup because without that as inspiration (and a kick up the bum) I don't think I'd have attempted this project yet. I would still be doing scarves and plugging away trying to work on socks.
Doing this has also given me the confidence to try a couple of other things that I might have put off for a while longer. I also have in the back of my mind something I want to create from scratch. I have a strong inspiration from something that is made from material and is from the 1940's - I'll not say too much just yet, I've yet to work out how to make the thing in knitting =D
Anyway, without further ado here are the pics of the completed World Cup Knitting Project - Bombshell from Big Girl Knits (excuse the state of my hair it was shoved up to weave in the ends and the pic was taken in a rush I forgot to let it down!):

Beautiful job! I didn't think I liked this sweater in the book, but it looks great on you. AND the color looks good on you too -- whichever of these pictures is accurate.
