So lets start first with the yummyness that is the Knitting Help Swap Pal package, here she is in all her glory the fluffy clouds of gorgeous deep red yarn and the fabulous sweater keychain:

I really wish you could feel this yarn, it is just sooooooooo soft.
So moving on, today in the post arrived "Creating Knitwear Designs" the companion book to "Making Knitwear Fit" - both of these books are excellent, giving good, straightforward, easy to read details on both the subjects. Illustrated examples help greatly, and both are giving me assistance in learning more about the art of making knitwear work and fit. Hopefully these will give me the tools to adapt some patterns, and in the future present my own designs. I already have something specific in mind, after the KWC is completed and my swap pal's beautiful fluffy clouds are put to use, I'll be working on something special.

So now while on the subject of the KWC - here is the progress on Bombshell. I have to say I've totally surprised myself with the speed of the progress. I feel like it is slow but then I looked at the other photos (the ones I didn't get to post) and realised that I'm moving pretty fast on this. This is probably due to the fact that every waking hour when I can is spent knitting. I've been spending evenings with my mother to avoid "cat"astrophy from Missy attacking the yarn. She has been missing me terribly and is currently sitting here mewling loudly while staring down at me from on top of my monitor.
Anyway, yesterday I reached the end of the ribbing and was ready to put the finishing touches to the body - the seed stitch border. Alas, when trying it on it didn't cover enough of my belly and another inch for the border wouldn't have been long enough. I had to continue in the pattern to add another couple of inches. Finally, this evening, I am starting on the seed stitch border. I got 3 rows of it completed after the photo was taken and now at 12:30 alas it is time for me to stop knitting for the night and fall into bed.
So here, in all her glory, is the luscious bombshell. Welcome to my first proper garment fit for human wearing. Not bad for only picking the sticks back up in late March this year (even if I do say so myself, but I'm amazed I've managed to do this and proud that I could follow a pattern for something that is going to fit!!)

ohhhhhhhhhh im so jealous!!! It looks beautiful. Fits life a glove eh? I think I need to give it ago...I love that sweater and I SO need to hide the belly. Think it would be hard to make the sleeves longer?
I am pretty sure making the sleeves longer won't be an issue. I've yet to pick the stitches off the waste yarn and continue with the sleeves. I think the next stage on them is just add the seed stitch border - they need more work (joining better and tidying up at the underarm bit) but I was thinking about making the sleeves longer in another version (using all seasons cotton).
Thank you for the compliments too =D
Go for it - make it, it is doing great things to my belly - when it is complete I'll post a full pic of me in it =D
I LOVE it...bombshell is GORGEOUS!! I am going to order the book after finishing the KWC. I'm very interested to see what you create after reading these books, WTG!
Loving your swap goodies...fyi, remember...I know who sent it...LOL!
That swap yarn is just so pretty!! Bombshell is looking wonderful - I'm still drooling over that fabulous color!
This look sgreat - I'm really encouraged and am tempted to start mine too, but I promised myself I would wait until the Summer hols :( Looking forward to seeing pictures of the finished item. Anything that has any impact on a belly gets my vote.
